⚡ Quick Start Guide

1. Hardware Setup

  1. Place the water pump at the bottom of the tank.
    → Tip: If using fine sand, mount the pump slightly higher on the glass wall to avoid clogging.
  2. Fill the tank with water—ensure the water level fully covers both the pump and temperature sensor.
  3. Connect the USB cable from the tank lid to the included 5V/2A adapter.
  4. Power on—the pump will start circulating water automatically.

2. App Setup (LEYU App)

  1. Download LEYU from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Enable Bluetooth and Location permissions on your phone (required for device discovery).
  3. Open the app → Tap “+” → Select your WP8689 when it appears → Tap “Save”.

Success! Your tank is now connected and controllable via the LEYU app.

🔧 Troubleshooting

App can’t find deviceBluetooth/Location disabledEnsure both Bluetooth and Location permissions are granted to the LEYU app. Restart Bluetooth if needed.
Temperature reading inaccurateSensor not submergedAlways keep the temperature probe fully underwater.
Touch buttons unresponsiveWet surfaceWipe dry before use—moisture can interfere with capacitive touch.

🧼 Maintenance Tips

  • Weekly: Rinse the pump’s intake filter screen to remove debris.
  • Monthly:
    • Remove the filter box (push in direction of arrow).
    • Replace old filter sponge/media with fresh ones.
  • Feeder: Refill only with dry pellets or granules (< 0.1mm diameter). Avoid oily or moist food.
  • Always unplug before cleaning or maintenance.

⚠️ Critical Safety Reminder: Never run the water pump dry—it will permanently damage the motor.

  • Create a drip loop in all power cords to prevent water from reaching electrical outlets.
  • Keep all touch controls dry during operation.
